Berkane is a popular place in Morocco because of the beautiful orange groves and the wide-open areas that are now afforded to its residents. One of the most popular reasons that people are moving to Berkane is to take advantage of the less cramped living space. Berkane is not overcrowded with tourists and is a great spot away from all the hustle and bustle of other Moroccan cities. This is a thriving market town that is extremely active and fairly affluent. The French originally built the city, but modern Moroccan houses now make up most of the living quarters. The main attraction is the many orange groves and visitors love to try day fresh fruits from the friendly vendors along the main roads. Berkane is a great place to live.
