São Vicente is one of the 10 islands that make up Cape Verde. The island is roughly rectangular in shape and has a surface area of 227 Km2. The highest point on Sao Vicente is Monte Verde, which measures 774m above sea level.
São Vicente was discovered on St. Vincent’s Day in 1462 but was only inhabited around the mid 1800’s.
