Very near to the African coast, beautiful Boavista is the most eastern island of the Archipelago. The island is covered with expansive sand dunes that lend to its cascading scenery. Homeowners have been taking advantage of this area in greater numbers each year. The beautiful white sand beaches and emerald green water make it a year round delight for the residents. Among the typical vegetation of the island is the date palm a kind of a palm tree with three or six branches coming out of the same base. During the year, there are many diverse festivities that take place in Boa Vista that add to its cultural life. Residents especially enjoy the new years festival in the village of Sal-Rei with dances and other forms of festivities. Boa Vista is becoming a great spot to settle down.
