The goal of Burj Dubai is not simply to be the world’s tallest highest skyscraper. It’s to embody the world’s highest aspirations. Burj Dubai looks different depending on where you’re standing. For those living nearby, it is a shining accomplishment – tangible proof of Dubai’s central role in a growing world and an icon of the new Middle East: prosperous, dynamic, and successful and strengthening Dubai’s image as the lifestyle destination of the millennium.
In fact, Burj Dubai is a beacon of progress for the entire world and work is already underway on one of Dubai’s most ambitious projects to date. Located on Downtown Sheikh Zayed Road, the tower which will be over 2000ft/610m tall will be the centerpiece of an exclusive district, created by Emaar, containing a city within a city a response to a demand from consumers who don’t want to spend their time tied up in traffic. It makes life a lot easier if you can live, work, shop and entertain in the same place for greater convenience. The Burj Dubai is a prestigious large-scale mixed-use urban development, which will combine elegant and distinctive residential living, a variety of designer hotels, fine dining establishments, commercial, entertainment, shopping and leisure outlets with open green spaces, water features, pedestrian boulevards, a shopping mall and a tourist-oriented old town.
Built of glass, aluminium, concrete and steel, the tower’s Chicago-based Skidmore, Owings & Merrill architectural consultants have drawn their inspiration from the historical influences of the Gulf. The tower's base and geometry reflects the six-petal desert flower of the region as well as indigenous Islamic patterns. The tower is composed of three elements arranged around a central core embracing a spectacular man-made lake which is designed to wrap around the tower and to provide dramatic views of it.. As the base of the Burj Dubai blossoms it gracefully rises, the dome shaped plan profile accentuates a series of steps which occur at each element in an upward spiraling pattern, decreasing the mass of the tower as it reaches toward the sky maximising views. The top of the Tower, the central core emerges and is sculpted to form a finishing spire. A Y-shaped floor plan maximizes views of the Persian Gulf which will contain a public observation deck and a private club will be situated above that.
Truly an exclusive residence, the Burj Dubai offers you the chance to own property at the world's most prestigious address Featuring one, two and three bedroom luxury apartments these homes embrace design themes, elegantly expressed in sculpted woodwork and rich finishes which combine with a Metropolitan style offered in sleek contemporary fittings. Those making these residences their home will have immediate access to exceptional amenities including fitness centres, guest suites and exclusive resident concierge services.
The Burj Dubai Tower will be constructed by South Korea's Samsung Corporation and should be completed by December 2008. |
